Tokoname ware, one of the oldest kilns in Japan, is renowned for its kyusu (teapot) production. With a thousand years of history, the sophisticated techniques used by Tokoname ware result in products of exceptional quality.
The clay used in its production is impervious to water, which is a defining feature of Tokoname ware. Not only does this clay soften excess astringency and bitterness, but it also brings out the best flavor of the tea. The thin and durable nature of the clay makes it ideal for kyusu (teapot) , with the lid and body perfectly aligned to preserve the tea's aroma.
The unglazed interior of the body enhances the tea's flavor, while the rounded ceramic mesh on the tea strainer prevents clogging and allows for easy draining.
