Marianne Nilsen is a textile artist graduated from Design School Kolding.
She works with a nature-inspired expression. Through her knitted sculptures and wall hangings she creates an atmosphere where the head and body find calm.
The sculptures are created with an experimental approach to analogue machine knitting. She challenges the traditional soft expression of knitting by weaving stiff threads across the knitted construction. This creates the shapes, structure, and stability in the same workflow.
