Wang Wen De is a master of visual tension. Throughout his work, soft lines play against geometry, and ethereality pairs with gravity.
In this medium-sized brewing pot, subtle fingerprints work their way up the body of the vessel in feathery strokes, obscured by a soft shino glaze. In contrast, the brass handle is a bold stroke, formed with a certainty that throws the delicacy of the clay into stark relief. This balance of shape and material keeps the eye in motion, a constant exploration of a beautiful form. At 190ml capacity, it is perfectly sized to brew tea for two. A built in strainer on the inside of the spout allows for quick, clean pouring. 5 available.
