Crafted of young kurotake bamboo from the forested island of Shikoku, this simple, elegant tea scoop is the accompaniment to our classic . Made by a 25 year veteran of the craft, the thin scoop follows the classic traditions of Takayama tea ware, honed over half a millennia.
Kurotake, or black bamboo, is the preferred style of Sen No Rikyū and the Mushanokojisenke school of tea, which places value on hospitality over elaborate tea preparation. Beautifully presented in a paulownia wooden box.
