Glazed stoneware・Wood-fired
From Liao Guo Hua’s personal archive come sixteen masterful teapots that together chart the breadth and variation of two decades of atmospheric firings in the artist’s remote wood kiln.
Spout and handle angle from the body of the pot like limbs, the gestural reaching arms of a Rodin bronze. Dark, tianmu brown glaze slides down the body of the form, breaking at the sharp edge of the shoulder to reveal soft tans and golds. A tightly fitting lid, glazed interior, and honeycombed filter beneath the spout allow for quick, clean pouring.
With use, oils from tea will create a deepened color and luster on this pot's glazed surface. Signed by the artist.
Usage and care: This teapot is suit able for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses, or hand-wash without soap or detergent.
