Stoneware・Shino
An intriguing new form from Taiwanese master potter, Wang Wen De, this stoneware vase echoes the shape of a lotus pod, rising up from murky waters. Hand-built from rich stoneware clay, the surface of the pot is brushed with a thick slurry of slip then glazed matte white, drawing relief and texture to the surface. These lines draw upwards toward the rim of the vase, drawing the eye from shadowed base to lip, and back again.
