Stoneware・Matte white glaze
Wang Wen De is a master of visual tension. Throughout his work, soft lines play against geometry, and ethereality pairs with gravity.
In this stoneware server, subtle fingerprints work their way up the body of the vessel in feathery strokes, obscured by a soft shino glaze, that breaks across the peaks and valleys in an organic contrast to the sharp, poised profile of the spout. This balance of soft and sharp lines keeps the eye in motion, a constant exploration of a beautiful form.
This is the larger of two scallloped servers available, and holds approximately 220ml. The small, at 115ml, can be viewed .
*Please take note that each pot can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each tea pot is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
