Stoneware・Shino
This five sided server by ceramicist Wang Wen De is a design marvel. All five sides are impossibly flat, and joined at sharp creased angles. One crease ends in a precise spout with perfect, near dripless water flow.
This piece is built of exceptionally thin stoneware, then carefully glazed with either light or dark gray shino. The glaze has a beautiful crackle on its surface, which will color and develop a patina with use.
*Please take note that each server can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each server is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
