Hand-formed・Zi ni (purple clay)・300ml
Nearly a perfect half-dome, this larger tea pot was slab-built by hand using a Huang Long Shan "zi ni", or purple clay. The base is perfectly flat and wide, with a gradual and graceful slope upwards towards the lid. In contrast, the spout is angular, perfect round with a slight taper. The capacity of this tea pot makes it perfect for longer brew aged teas and, Wuyi yancha, and red teas.
Artist chop is stamped on the bottom, underside of the lid, and handle. Seven outlets arranged in a hexagonal pattern allows for quick drainage. Series of six pieces by ceramicist Ren De Hua.
Usage and care: Thoroughly rinse particles of sand from the interior before use. Dedicate one tea type per pot. Eventually, a tea pot will be seasoned with the particular character of a tea. Hand-wash only without soap or detergent.
