Porcelain・Hand-painted・Cobalt
A modern take on traditional Chinese blue and white qing hua pottery, our latest collection of gaiwans from New York ceramicist, Erin Louise Clancy are instant classics. Delicate, cloud-like strokes of blue drift across the surface of these pots, punctuated by whimsical dots and sweeping lines.
Lift the top and you’ll find a special treat. The pattern continues on the gentle curve of the lid, an attention to detail that defines the artists intricate style.
This series is accompanied by delicate tea cups, sold in pairs, and glazed to match.
* Please take note that each gaiwan can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each gaiwan is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
Usage and care: Hand-wash only, mild detergent and a soft sponge is ok.
Approximate dimensions: 80mm tall, 90mm diameter, 125ml・Artist: Erin Louise Clancy
